Do I need to fill in a W-8BEN form?

No. You don't need to fill in a W-8BEN form to invest with Curvo.

What a W-8BEN is

The W-8BEN is a form from the American tax authority, the IRS. You fill it in for an American financial institution to confirm that you're not an American taxpayer, so that less tax is withheld on your American income. The brokers that ask for one are those that let you hold American shares or ETFs directly.

Why it doesn't apply to Curvo

No American institution is involved when you invest with Curvo. Curvo is based in the Netherlands, and the index funds in the portfolios are European, domiciled in Ireland and Luxembourg. You never hold an American security in your own name, so nobody asks you to certify your tax status to the IRS.

Those funds do hold American shares, and the American tax on them is settled at the level of the fund, before your holding is valued. You don't need to do anything for it.

What you do need to declare in Belgium

Your Belgian obligations are unaffected by any of this. What taxes do I have to pay? covers the taxes on your investments and how to declare them.

If you're unsure whether the American rules apply to you in the first place, Can I open an account as a US Person? explains who counts as one.
